I have decided to finally kill off Twist3d.net.
I used to use Twist3d.net for a personal blog, then a review site and then other stuff but as of lately the site gets hit with so many spam bots that it’s not worth fucking with anymore.
I just need to get my old e-mail that gets sent there to go elsewhere and then I can finally quit renewing the stupid domain and quit worrying about it.
So if you still have a e-mail address in your Address book that points to Twist3d.net then you can simply delete that shit.
Recently I have been dealing with a Cryptolocker infection at work that has taken out our shared network files twice now and this latest infection is by far the worst one I have seen so far since our backups haven’t been getting done correctly due an configuration error of our backup software.
Cryptolocker is a new form of ransomware which encrypts a huge number of file types and then demands you pay $300 USD to decrypt your personal files. Full Details at Bleeping Computer.
Now since our backups at work have failed we were forced to pay the ransom to recover our files since it encrypted over 57,000 of them. After we paid the ransom it went to work and it decrypted all but 3,000 or so of the files.
Screenshots of Cryptolocker
Later David at work found a way to use the “Your Private Key.bin” file we got after paying ransom to decrypt the remaining files using a Python scrypt called Cryptounlocker.
- install python 3.3 – Download
- install the pycrypto module – Download
- Download the Crypto-Unlocker script and extract it. – Download
- Copy “Your Private Key.bin” into the root cryptounlocker folder and the encrypted files into the “Encrypted Files” folder under that.
- Open a command line, type “python”, and it should show the correct version 3.3.3.
- On the command line navigate to the cryptounlocker folder and type “python Crypto-Unlocker-V1.1.5-Run.py”.
- Check the “Decrypted Files” folder for the results.
I’m hoping this is the last time I run into Cryptolocker but I somehow doubt this is the case as this Trojan is just getting spread around thicker and thicker as of recent.
Lot has happened since I posted last.
Work got hit with Cryptolocker again so I spent all last week trying to solve that issue. We got it mostly under control now and most of the files restored.
I finally got my new computer put together and up and running with Windows 8.1 Pro however I decided after all of this that I need a faster hard drive since it only rates at 5.9 where the rest of my machine rates at 8.0-8.1.
Here are some photos of my new machine.
Friday it snowed and dropped at least 4″ on us and I ended up getting to use my snow plow that’s on my four wheeler. It does a pretty decent job which is good because I only paid about $100 for the plow itself.
I also got my new security system but I haven’t taken the time to set it up yet which I need to do soon.
Today my wife lost her keys to her car so now she has no car remote, car keys, gas cap key, Post office key and our house key was on there as well. Hopefully nobody finds that stuff and breaks into our house, or steals the car or mail. We are going to see what we can do Monday about the PO Box and I’m probably going to change the keys on the house. I’m not sure what to do about her car issue.
Tomorrow I don’t really have anything planned other than possibly working on the security system and fixing up my friends computer that I haven’t been working on yet.
So I finally decided to replace my computer I built 2+ years ago with a new Intel i7. I have been running AMD for over 10 years but finally decided to switch it up since all the websites I have checked claim Intel is way better than AMD anymore.
My new computer specs are:
CPU: Intel Core I7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHZ Quad Core
RAM: 16GB RAM
PSU: 750W Corsair
Mainboard: MSI Z87-G43
Hard Drives: 2x1TB
Monitor: Dual 24″ Acer LED
GCPU: Radeon HD7800 2GB (reused)
OS: Windows 8 Pro
My old computer specs are:
CPU: AMD x2 3.2GHZ with Aftermarket Zalman CPU fan
PSU: 500w Antec
Hard Drives: 2x1TB
Monitor: Dual 22″ LCD
OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
I’m starting to get really sick of gay males simply because they always try to hit on me in person and over the internet.
I’m not sure what part of how I look makes them think that I am gay when I’m clearly not & I really wish they would leave me the fuck alone. Ok, yes I do enjoy nudism, Yes I have been nude around others before but none of that means that I am gay.
So take a hint gay guys, I’m NOT gay and I never will be interested in YOU..
I’ve officially lost my faith in Seagate Hard Drives upon having 2 of the 4TB Seagate drives that I used recently lose all their partition tables and then in turn causing me to lose all the data on those drives.
I tried to partition the drive again and it only lets me partition 1.9TB out of 4TB as well so I’ll need to eventually figure out that issue as well.
I’m currently trying to recover the latest 4TB drive that failed with Recuva so we will see how that goes.
I have recommended to the company that I work for that they no longer buy any Seagate products because they aren’t reliable enough for the work that we do and we were buying over 4 of their 4TB drives a month.
Now I need to figure out what to do with about 15 other 4 TB Seagate drives that we bought previously…
I am a IT guy at my full-time job and I just wanted to pass on a warning to the public that I also passed on to my co-workers so we could prevent problems on our internal network.
Below is what I passed on to everybody in the company.
There has been a lot of Malware that has been being sent through e-mail lately that has .zip files attached that contain Viruses, Trojans, or Malware.
Please be extra cautious and don’t open anything that you get in an e-mail if you aren’t 100% sure of the source.
Below are some examples of e-mail subjects with attached files in the sub bullets.

I had a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving this year and below is a recap of how I spent it for anybody who is interested in reading.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Amber’s Step Dad’s family since Amber’s mom didn’t have a Thanksgiving dinner at her house this year. It was very interested trying to fit a bunch of us into their tiny house but we managed.
Later we went Black Friday shopping at Wal-Mart in Keokuk, IA from 6-10ishPM which was very interesting to say the least.
We got up early at 5AM to do some Black Friday shopping at Shop-Ko in Ft Madison, IA. There were only about 10 cars there when we arrived so we ended up spending a bit more money there than we did at Wal-Mart the day before.
We didn’t end up doing much else on this day other than sleeping and cleaning up the house.
I don’t remember much of what I did Saturday but I did work on my four wheeler and installed my snowblade so I can get ready for when the snow finally gets here.
Saturday evening we went out to hang out with friends and socialize at a couple bars since we didn’t have the kids. Overall it was a pretty fun evening.
I spent the day with my wife while my mother in law had the kids. We ended up cleaning up the yard and then later having a bonfire at 6 with the kids, Megan and her daughter. It was fun watching the kids play together.
That’s about the extent of my weekend.
Black Friday at Walmart was INSANE! The parking lot was totally full and we were still able to get some shopping done. We don’t really go for the huge rush or the hype of it because the deals hardly are ever that good and the wait for most big items aren’t worth the time you spend for them.
We ended up getting 2 $50 Tablets, and a bunch of other stuff that Amber was interested in getting for the kids at Wal-Mart.
Shop-Ko was more mellow because when we arrived there at 5AM there were only about 10 cars in the parking lot and hardly anybody inside so we picked up a couple things for the house and few items for the kids and then went out to eat and came home to sleep for a while afterwards.
Just wanted to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving before I head out to my own. We decided to go to Amber’s Step Dads side of the family to celebrate this year since her mom isn’t having one.
I believe my mom ended up just going to the nursing home where my father is at to celebrate.
We plan to go to Walmart Black Friday at 6PM and 8PM so that should be interesting and we are also going to ShopKo at 5AM just to see what we can pick up.
